Growing Up Daily collects no personal data whatsoever. Everything you enter — your name, your children's names and birthdays, your notes, your progress — is stored only in your browser's local storage on your own device. It never leaves your device. We operate no server that receives your data. We have no database. We know nothing about you.
When you use Growing Up Daily, the following information is saved in your browser's local storage under the key gudaily_v3:
This data exists exclusively on your device. If you clear your browser's local storage, it is gone permanently. If you switch to a different browser or device, your data is not there. We have no copy of it anywhere.
If you choose to enter your email address for daily reminders, that email address is transmitted to a third-party email service provider. Your email is used solely to send you the daily reminder you requested and for no other purpose. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any reminder email. We do not use your email for marketing, profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering reminders you requested.
Google Fonts: Growing Up Daily loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). Your browser makes a request to Google's servers to download these font files. Google may log that request, including your IP address, per their own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). This is standard web practice. If you prefer, you can block fonts.googleapis.com in your browser — the app will fall back to system fonts and function normally.
External resource links: Lessons include links to third-party resources (American Academy of Pediatrics, CDC, Child Mind Institute, RAINN, etc.). Clicking those links takes you to those organizations' websites, which are subject to their own privacy policies. We have no control over and no relationship with those sites.
Growing Up Daily is designed for use by parents and caregivers — not for direct use by children. We do not knowingly collect any personal information directly from children under 13. The only information about children in the app is what a parent or caregiver enters on their own device. That information — first name, birth date, gender — never leaves the device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.
We are in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child under 13 has somehow provided personal information through this Service, please contact us at hello@growingupdaily.com and we will address it promptly.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. Because Growing Up Daily collects no personal information on our servers, there is nothing for us to disclose, delete remotely, or sell. All data is on your device and under your control. You can delete it at any time via Settings → Reset all data.
Because we collect no personal data on our servers, GDPR data subject rights — access, rectification, erasure, portability, and restriction — are exercised by you directly through your own browser's local storage. We are not a data controller in the traditional sense because we never receive, process, or store your personal data. For the Google Fonts data request described above, Google acts as an independent controller under their own terms.
To delete all data associated with your use of Growing Up Daily: open the app, go to Settings, and tap "Reset all data." This permanently and irreversibly removes all locally stored data from your device. Alternatively, you can clear local storage for growingupdaily.com through your browser's privacy or developer settings.
Because all data is stored locally on your device and never transmitted to us, there is no server-side security risk associated with your use of this app. The security of the data rests with your device's security — lock your device with a passcode and use trusted browsers.
If we ever change our data practices, we will update this page and the date at the top. Our core commitment — that your data stays on your device and we collect nothing — is a permanent architectural principle of this product. We cannot change this without rebuilding the app from scratch, which we have no intention of doing.
