Growing Up Daily collects no personal data. Everything you enter — your name, your children's names and birthdays, your notes, your progress — is stored only in your browser's local storage on your own device. It never leaves your device. We have no server receiving your data. We have nothing.
When you use Growing Up Daily, the following data is saved in your browser's local storage under the key gudaily_v3:
This data exists exclusively on your device. If you clear your browser's local storage, it is permanently deleted. If you use a different browser or device, your data is not there.
If you choose to enter your email address for daily reminders, that email is submitted to Buttondown (buttondown.email), a third-party email service. Please review Buttondown's privacy policy at buttondown.email/privacy. You can unsubscribe at any time. Your email is never used for any purpose other than sending the daily reminder you requested.
Growing Up Daily loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). This is a standard web practice and involves your browser making a request to Google's servers to download the font files. Google may log this request. If you prefer, you can use the app with system fonts by blocking fonts.googleapis.com in your browser.
Growing Up Daily is designed for parents and caregivers, not for direct use by children. We do not knowingly collect any data directly from children. The only information about children stored in the app is what a parent enters on their own device — first name, birth month/year, and gender — and this data never leaves that device.
Because we collect no personal data on our servers, GDPR data subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability) are exercised by you directly — by viewing, editing, or deleting data in your browser's local storage. We are not a data controller in the traditional sense because we never receive your data.
To delete all data: open the app, go to Settings, and tap "Reset all data." This permanently removes all locally stored data from your device. Alternatively, clear your browser's local storage for growingupdaily.com in your browser settings.
If we ever change our data practices (we have no plans to), we will update this page and the date above. Our core commitment — that your data stays on your device and we collect nothing — is a permanent design principle of this product, not a policy we can simply change.
